Google Cloud announced the appointment of Sherie Ng as country director of Google Cloud’s business in Singapore and Malaysia. In her new role, Ng will be responsible for leading revenue and go-to-market strategy and operations for Google Cloud Platform and Google Workspace, and working with teams across Google to help customers from all industries reimagine their business through data-powered innovation.
She will report to Ruma Balasubramanian, managing director, Southeast Asia, Google Cloud, who continues to lead Google Cloud's all-female leadership team for the Southeast Asia region.
Ng joins Google Cloud from Microsoft, bringing extensive experience advising and working with public sector and enterprise decision-makers to drive public-private partnerships and country-level programs around bridging the digital skills gap, enhancing organizations’ capabilities in digital transformation, analytics and AI and advancing sustainability goals.
During her tenure helming Microsoft's public sector business in the region, Ng oversaw the coalescence earlier this year of Microsoft’s Asia Pacific Public Sector Cyber Security Executive Council, as part of a bid to fight cyber threats in the region.
At least 15 policy makers from Brunei, Indonesia, Korea, Malaysia, the Philippines, Singapore and Thailand became part of the council, which was supported by cyber security professionals from Microsoft.
Prior to Microsoft, Ng worked at Nice Systems, Invensis, Singtel, Comverse Technologies, CSG Systems, and Lucent Technologies.
