TELEKOM Malaysia Bhd (TM) has announced higher speeds (30Mbps and 50Mbps) for its UniFi for Business (UniFi BIZ) packages, including the availability of Internet Protocol Television (IPTV) for businesses.
The new packages -- BIZ30 and BIZ50 -- come with a host of complementary products and services, TM said in a statement: Free DECT phone; one WiFi Business Getaway; TM WiFi ID; 10GB web hosting along with a 2GB e-mail account; one Infoblast account; and add-on Value Added Services (VAS) options that include web storage capacities of up to 10GB and also an add-on fixed IP address.
“With this … SMEs (small and medium enterprises) will be able to maximize the use of next-generation online applications and services via TM’s high-speed broadband network at an affordable price,” said Azizi A. Hadi, executive vice president SME at TM.
“Higher speed broadband connections would enable SMEs to have better experience doing business activities over the Internet. With faster Internet connections, SMEs can collaborate and utilize advanced online business applications more efficiently,” he added.
With UniFi BIZ, subscribers will enjoy unlimited data with no usage cap at the moment and also the lowest call rates for businesses in Malaysia, TM claimed – at a flat rate of three sen/ minute to all TM fixed lines nationwide and 12 sen/ minute to all mobiles and other fixed line operators.
SMEs can also now enjoy TM’s IPTV service, HyppTV, making it a triple-play offering, a feature previously only made available via its residential packages, the company said.
TM has made available 51 channels, three supplementary sports channels and 11 interactive channels with 18 High Definition (HD) channels for UniFi BIZ customers to choose from.
UniFi is available in 94 areas covering more than 1.32 million premises passed including key economic and industrial zones in the Klang Valley, Cyberjaya, Putrajaya, Kulim Hi-Tech Park and the Iskandar Malaysia area, TM said.
In Penang, the deployment of UniFi has covered Bayan Baru, Bukit Tengah and Seberang Jaya for both residential and industrial areas.
TM said it has more than 460,000 UniFi customers nationwide, including over 65,000 SME customers.
