  • A chance to advance as Azure data scientist associates, AI engineer associates

Microsoft Azure Women in AI Programme now opened in Malaysia DIGITAL certification technology organisation, iTrain Asia and Microsoft Corp, have launched the Microsoft Azure Women in AI Programme in conjunction with the International Women’s Day.

The move is aimed at bridging the gender gap artificial intelligence (AI) and the global workforce as a whole, iTrain Asia and Microsoft said in a statement.

Citing a recent report by the World Economic Forum, iTrain Asia noted that there is still a 31.4% gap in gender-based disparities, something that it believes still needs bridging despite improvement in recent years.

According to the company, which provides digital skills certifications, 55% of its workforce are women. Meanwhile, Microsoft has always been an advocate for more women to be involved in the growth of AI.

Microsoft noted that with more inclusivity of women in the Microsoft Azure platform, the world can “expect remarkable breakthroughs and discoveries in AI.”

The Microsoft Azure Women in AI Programme now sponsors 500 women data scientists to take on an all-rounded AI-900 Certification training. The aim is to equip them with fundamental knowledge in AI through 25 workshops across eight countries.

The programme has the support from AI and tech associations all around Asia, including Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia, Korea, Vietnam, Thailand, Philippines and Sri Lanka, Microsoft said.

Armed with skills and certification badges from Microsoft, the women who will take this programme, could experience a higher chance to evolve their careers in AI. It could also open up new windows of opportunities to advance as Azure data scientist associates or Azure AI engineer associates, it added.

Microsoft Azure Women in AI Programme is now open for registration at www.itrainasia.com/microsoft-women-in-ai/.
