GRAB, Southeast Asia’s leading ride-hailing platform has grown rapidly and now manages more than 3.5 million journeys each day. With the extensive progress and frequent roll-out of new application features, the company now utilises Red Hat’s technology, Red Hat Ansible Tower to assist in a better handling of the growing demand for its services.

Red Hat Ansible Tower, an enterprise IT automation engine that helps enterprises cut through complexities of modern IT environments with powerful automation capabilities can improve productivity.

By deploying Red Hat Ansible Tower, Grab eliminated 40% of its downtime and increased its aggregate up-time to 99.99%.

In addition to that, Red Hat Ansible Tower also enabled Grab to gain greater infrastructure scalability and stability, as well as simplified management for its growing engineering team. Over the last year, Grab has used its new IT environment to introduce many innovative services and in just two months, the company was also able to automate all the backend systems supporting its services.

Grab's systems have grown by approximately 300 times their initial size in the last three years, with app downloads increasing more than 300% year-over-year.

Multiple cities are added to its services every week and its ride business has more than doubled.

Despite its rapid initial growth, Grab plans to accelerate its expansion, with a goal of becoming Southeast Asia’s premier consumer transport and payment web-based platform.

In line with that, Red Hat Ansible Tower will be a key part of the systems supporting this expansion.
