Newstead and MobileIron in EMM pact in Singapore

• Retailer launched enterprise business last year
• Expects strong demand from BYOD and PDPA needs

CONSUMER electronics retailer and IT solutions provider Newstead Technologies has sealed a partnership with MobileIron to provide mobile security and enterprise mobility management (EMM) solutions as part of its end-to-end enterprise offerings to corporate customers.
 
Singapore businesses that rely on mobile devices in their operations, from managing in-house operations apps on tablets to delivering data to employee-owned smartphones, constantly face security threats and data leakage challenges, Newstead said in a statement.
 
The company said it anticipates strong demand from companies looking to protect confidential customer data, secure proprietary business information and to comply with the Personal Data Protection Act in Singapore.
 
“Since the launch of our enterprise business last year, Newstead has significantly strengthened our partner ecosystem with industry leaders such as MobileIron,” said Newstead Technologies chief executive officer Mindy Tan.
 
“More of our customers across industries including food and beverage, retail and hospitality are looking to securely deploy mobile solutions to improve their sales, performance and day-to-day efficiency,” she added.
 
Companies that deploy Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) policies will require a sound EMM platform strategy to balance corporate network security and employee data privacy through apps management and remote access control, the company said.
