ECS to distribute Microsoft Lumia phones in Malaysia

MALAYSIAN consumers looking for Microsoft's Lumia smartphones can now also find them at ECS ICT Berhad.
The Group’s wholly-owned subsidiary, ECS Astar Sdn Bhd, was appointed by Finland-based Nokia Sales International Oy, a subsidiary of Microsoft Mobile Oy, to distribute Microsoft Lumia smartphones for the Malaysian IT channel and consumer electronics chain stores nationwide.
ECS Astar Sdn Bhd will distribute four models at present, namely the Lumia 930 (pic), Lumia 830, Lumia 735 and Lumia 535.
Market research firm IDC in July 2014 forecasted that Malaysia’s smartphone sales is expected to grow steadily to US$2.4 billion in 2015, as compared to US$2.2 billion in 2014, signifying an 8% growth year-on-year, driven by various factors including the availability of more affordable smartphone models in the market.
ECS distributes a comprehensive range of ICT products comprising notebooks, personal computers, smartphones, tablets, printers, software, network and communication infrastructure, servers, and enterprise software from more than 30 leading principals.
