Sophos appoints Mavisco distributor in Malaysia, focus on govt and SME segments

Sophos appoints Mavisco distributor in Malaysia, focus on govt and SME segmentsINFO-security solutions vendor Sophos has appointed Mavisco Resources Sdn Bhd as a distributor in Malaysia for its complete security product portfolio.
 
Mavisco Resources will provide strong focus on developing the public sector and SME (small and medium enterprise) segments of the Malaysian market for Sophos, the British company said in a statement.
 
“We are partnering with Mavisco because of its experience as a technology distributor and its extensive national sales and service network,” said Sophos’ Asean director of sales, Sumit Bansal (pic).
 
“With this appointment, we intend to develop a stronger distributed market base and bring our solutions closer to SMEs at state and local levels in Malaysia, beginning with Penang and Kuching, where Mavisco has particular strengths.
 
“With a broad network of resellers and service locations nationwide, Mavisco will also help us establish a broad market footprint for our managed enterprise cloud security services, to better serve government and public sector organisations that have multiple branches around the country, as well as SMEs,” he added.
 
The Malaysian company will distribute the complete range of Sophos solutions including Endpoint Security, Encryption and Data Loss Prevention (DLP), Web and Email Protection, Mobile Control and Sophos Network Security, and Unified Threat Management (UTM).
 
“This partnership represents a significant new direction for Mavisco,” said Jenny Leong, business development manager of Mavisco Resources.
 
“We are focused on bringing Sophos’ superior technology to our highly skilled reseller base and will support their own customer development initiatives with our pre-sales, post-sales, licence and renewals management and market development services.
 
“We expect our partners and their customers will strongly benefit from this refreshing new opportunity in the sector,” she added.
