THE PropertyGuru Group has appointed Bjorn Sprengers (pic) as chief marketing officer, following the recent additions of a chief financial officer, human resources head and Malaysia country manager to its senior executive team.
Sprengers’ responsibilities include overseeing all aspects of business, consumer and online marketing, and corporate and external communications, PropertyGuru said in a statement.
Prior to this, he spent 11 years at electronics giant Philips, heading marketing for its Consumer Lifestyle sector in South-East Asia where he was responsible for the company’s strong performance in competitive categories such as Personal Care and Kitchen Appliances.
“From the start, PropertyGuru has positioned itself at the forefront for not only empowering the new generation of property seekers to reach smarter property decisions faster, but also established itself as a pioneer in getting agents and developers engaged with online real estate advertising,” said Sprengers.
“It is a privilege to be a part of an exceedingly dynamic team and collectively work towards augmenting PropertyGuru’s already lead position in the market,” he added.
PropertyGuru co-founder and chief executive officer Steve Melhuish said, “With PropertyGuru’s ongoing rapid growth and aggressive expansion plans, this is a very exciting time to have someone of Bjorn’s caliber on board.
“His broad experience in branding, strategic and tactical marketing will help to further extend our brand position, market leadership and redefine the user experience for our property seekers and property advertiser clients,” he added.
