Extreme Networks partners Westcon to tackle SEA market

• Alliance to kick off in Singapore and Malaysia, then on Indonesia, Thailand and Vietnam
• Westcon Solutions an arm of Westcon Group, an Extreme Networks distributor in Europe

EXTREME Networks Inc has announced the appointment of Westcon Solutions for on-site sales, marketing, and technical support in South-East Asia.
 
Westcon Solutions is a value-added distributor of category-leading network, security and unified communications solutions with a global network of speciality resellers, Extreme Networks said in a statement.
 
“At Extreme Networks, we are committed to working closely with our distributors and resellers to continually better serve our customers,” said Nelson Soon, channels sales director for Asia Pacific and Japan, Extreme Networks.
 
“At the same time, our strong reseller ecosystem is helping us gain greater traction in Asia Pacific,” he added.
 
Westcon Solutions is a separately resourced business arm of Westcon Group, which is already one of Extreme Networks’ leading distributors in Europe. Its portfolio of vendors includes Barracuda Networks, Check Point, F5, HP Enterprise Security, Novell, Silver Peak and SolarWinds.
 
Westcon Solutions is focused on the enablement and growth of new and existing technologies in Asia Pacific and is well positioned to help Extreme Networks strengthen its presence in South-East Asia, Extreme Networks said in its statement.
 
“Westcon Solutions’ established regional presence and solid understanding of local requirements, coupled with its history with Extreme Networks, makes the company a key strategic alliance for us in the region as we continue to focus on maximising our growth opportunities,” said Soon.
 
“We will work closely with Westcon Solutions in Singapore and Malaysia to start with, and then roll out this strategic alliance in Indonesia, Thailand and Vietnam in the next phase,” he added.
 
San Jose, California-headquartered Extreme Networks’ enhanced channel programme offers access to a comprehensive product portfolio, along with a host of resources, training, and support, enabling distributors and resellers to develop, sell, and implement networking solutions and grow their services businesses, the company said.
