Emerson Network Power boosts DCIM team in Asia

Emerson Network Power boosts DCIM team in AsiaEMERSON Network Power has announced key appointments aimed at further strengthening its data centre infrastructure management (DCIM) business in Asia.
 
These organisational changes signify its ongoing commitment to deliver the best DCIM solutions and services to its customers across the region, the company said in a statement.
 
Wesley Lim (pic) has been promoted to director of the DCIM business in Asia effective Oct 1. In his new role, he will head the full spectrum of DCIM business including sales development, pre-sales support and professional services across the Asia market units.
 
These markets include Australia and New Zealand, South-East Asia, North Asia, and Pakistan, Emerson Network Power said.
 
Lim will continue to be based out of Singapore and will continue to report to Gene Hayden, vice president and general manager for sales and marketing, Emerson Network Power in Asia Pacific.
 
“With emergence of cloud, big data, enterprise mobility and software-defined network solutions, there is a lot of opportunity for potential customers to consider their DCIM strategies,” said Lim.
 
“Emerson’s DCIM business will be an integral part of our channel go-to-market strategies and we will continue to invest to enable our channel ecosystems partners to bring value and technologies to customers,” he added.
 
Meanwhile, Kenny Khow was named director of the newly-created DCIM professional services team in Asia effective Aug 1.
 
He is responsible for building the professional services organisation including process mapping and development, resource management as well as the development of tools to ensure the success of the DCIM professional services business.
 
Specifically, he will be responsible for business development, portfolio development, delivery and project escalation management to meet customer expectations. Khow will report directly to Lim.
 
“2014 represents an exciting year for DCIM. We have had successful implementation of key DCIM projects with several major client organisations while actively working on a number of promising deployment initiatives across Asia,” said Hayden.
 
“With Wesley [Lim] at the forefront of our DCIM business in Asia, I am confident that we will be able to further strengthen our position as an industry leader in infrastructure management solutions in the region,” he added.
 
IDC recently named Emerson Network Power and Schneider Electric as leaders in the Asia Pacific DCIM market after evaluating 10 vendors. Emerson also bagged the award for best DCIM solution during the CIO Honour Awards 2014 held in Singapore on Oct 8, and was voted as the best by an independent advisory council consisting of top CIOs (chief information officers) in Singapore.
