VADS appoints Fautsch new VP for ICT Services

VADS appoints Fautsch new VP for ICT ServicesMANAGED information and communications technology/ business process outsourcing service provider VADS Berhad has appointed Fermin Fautsch (pic) its new vice president for ICT Services, effective March 25, the company said in a statement.

Ahmad Azhar, chief executive officer of VADS, expressed “delight” with having 53-year-old Fautsch on board.
 
“His skills and experience will certainly strengthen the VADS management team line-up. He brings with him a wealth of experience from various industries and we are confident that he will be able to lead, drive and manage the ICT services segment of the VADS business in tandem with our strategic short-term and long term objectives,” he said.

Fautsch brings with him more than 30 years of experience in building and managing information technology, operations and consulting businesses across the oil and gas, telecommunications, financial services and utilities industries, VADS said.
 
Before coming to Asia, Fautsch was the CEO of Logica in South America and prior to that, he was the managing director of the company, overseeing the energy and telecommunications markets in Portugal, Spain, Italy, Africa, Hong Kong and Macau. He was also an executive board member and chief information officer of PT Prime, the corporate telecom services provider of Portugal Telecom.
 
He began his career with the World Bank under the prestigious Young Professionals Program, VADS said, starting his assignment in East Africa as an economist followed by an assignment as a financial officer in the Treasury Department in Washington, DC.
 
Most recently, he served as the managing director, chief executive officer, partner and company director of Logica South East Asia and Hong Kong covering Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia, Philippines and Hong Kong.
 
He is currently the director and chairman of the EU Malaysia Chamber of Commerce and Industry and is also a member of the EU-Asean Business Council.
 
Fautsch is a systems engineer by qualification, holds an MBA with honours from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania and an MA in International Economics from John Hopkins University.
