Iskandar to host Asia Pacific outsourcing summit in Oct

  • Summit theme at Iskandar is ‘Creating sustained value for regional integration’
  • Start of a 5yr partnership between Outsourcing Malaysia and IAOP

OUTSOURCING Malaysia, an initiative under the national ICT association Pikom, said it would organising the international Asia Pacific Outsourcing Summit (APOS) with the International Association of Outsourcing Professionals (IAOP).
 
The summit will be hosted at the Iskandar Malaysia development in the south of Malaysia, from Oct 21–24.
 
The summit in Iskandar will be the start of a five-year partnership between Outsourcing Malaysia and the IAOP which will see the Malaysian association as a key regional partner to bring such summits throughout Asia Pacific, Outsourcing Malaysia said in a statement.

“The APOS theme at Iskandar is ‘Creating sustained value for regional integration,’ and we truly look forward to bringing the outsourcing industry together in a synergistic platform of sharing and brainstorming to further develop the region’s potential as a teeming outsourcing hub,” said Outsourcing Malaysia chairman David Wong (pic).
 
“This summit is a global initiative that brings the world’s top outsourcing practitioners and business leaders together in one venue,” said IAOP chief executive officer Debi Hamill.
 
“Our partnership with Outsourcing Malaysia is a first for us here in Asean and holds a significant importance to our continuous endeavour to build the region’s outsourcing industry.
 
“IAOP’s initiatives such as ‘Outsourcing’s Global Value’ will help delegates understand how to better increase efficiency, yield significant cost savings and drive growth, while remaining informed on the economic and social impact,” she said.
 
APOS is expected to attract over 400 delegates, 30% of them from around the world, Outsourcing Malaysia said.
