Data center summit to focus on infra, cloud and energy efficiencyTHE Datacentres Malaysia summit on Jan 16-17 will feature speakers who will focus on IT infrastructure, cloud acceleration and energy efficiency, amongst other issues, its organizers said in a statement.
 
The event, the second such, is aimed at end-users, telcos, data center operators, cloud players, energy specialists and other companies engaged in the sector.
 
The forum which showcases opportunities for enterprises in Malaysia for outsourcing high specification IT infrastructure requirements and data centre investment, brings together users and providers to discuss key themes including energy efficiency, cloud evolution, DCIM, convergence, finance and investment, market outlook and opportunities.
 
Christian Belady, general manager of Data Center Services, Global Foundation Services at Microsoft, will provide an opening ‘Masterclass’ at the forum. With cloud computing accelerating the rate of change and innovation, his unique insight promises to enliven the debate, said BroadGroup, the consulting firm and producer of the event.
 
The two-day event will be opened and addressed by Datuk Badlisham Ghazali, chief executive officer the Multimedia Development Corporation (MDeC), the national ICT custodian.
 
Key speakers also include Dr Bob Sullivan, the father of hot-aisle/ cold-aisle design, one of the fundamental best practices in the data center; Mark Thiele, executive vice president of Data Center Tech at Switch; Kris Kumar, senior vice president regional head, Asia Pacific, Digital Realty; Harkeeret Singh, a global energy expert; Paul Francois Cattier, global vice president data center, Schneider Electric; Chiew Kok Hin, CEO of the AIMS Group of Companies; Christophe Maisonnave, Critical Facilities Strategy lead at HP; and Ed Ansett, managing partner, i3 Solutions Group.
