MYEG launches portal to help find alternative quarantine hotels

  • Provides selection of hotel accommodations for quarantine, of varying types and budget
  • Optional services include Covid-19 swab tests and transportation to hotel

The Saujana Hotel is one of the first few hotels currently available on SafeQMY E.G Services Bhd (MYEG) has announced the launch of SafeQ, an online portal offering hotel accommodation and amenity options available to low-risk Covid-19 patients who wish to undergo mandatory quarantine requirements in more comfortable settings.

The portal provides a selection of hotel accommodations of varying categories, ranging from 3-star to 5-star facilities, which caters to different budgets. These are options available to individuals who have tested positive for the Covid-19 virus but are deemed low-risk, and who prefer not to undergo the required 10-day isolation period from a home-based quarantine or government-owned facilities

Optional services are provided through the platform, too, such as Covid-19 swab tests, transportation to hotels and other amenities aimed at providing a more comfortable, convenient and safe quarantine stay, the company said in a statement

The prescribed Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) will be strictly adhered to at all times, with government personnel stationed at all the approved hotels to ensure full compliance, MYEG pledged.

Eligibility to quarantine at any of the available hotels would be subject to verification by MYEG with health authorities. The Saujana Hotel and Silka Cheras are the first few hotels currently available on the SafeQ portal, offering premium services and amenities at prices starting from US$17.32 (RM70) per pax for twin sharing at Silka, and US$86.61 (RM350) per night for a suite at Saujana.

The rates charged are inclusive of three meals daily provided by the hotel. More hotel options will be progressively added to the portal in the coming days, MYEG said. There are also numerous options for patients who intend to seek more luxurious accommodations at upscale participating hotels, it added.

MYEG SafeQ forms part of its digital services designed to help fight the Covid-19 outbreak. These initiatives include the introduction of an at-home, saliva-based test service in the Philippines, which the company unveiled recently.

SafeQ can be accessed here.
