Tourplus launches new app to support domestic tour businesses

Tourplus Technology Sdn Bhd (Tourplus), a Malaysian travel startup that provides an online marketplace for travelers providing personalised itineraries linking travelers to local guides today announced their new Tourplus App that will help thousands of local businesses get more domestic tourists.
The user friendly app is available in both iOS App Store and Google Play Store.
As Covid-19 cases continue to surge around the globe, Malaysia continues on to its RMCO (Movement Control Order) stage, not opening its borders to foreign tourists for an unknown period of time. This has heavily affected the travel industry.
However, a ray of light has emerged from a recent survey conducted by Tourism Malaysia that found a majority of respondents prefer to travel domestically than overseas post MCO. As a result, Tourism Malaysia has identified the domestic market as the “key” for the travel industry to recover immediately.
The survey concludes that the eagerness of Malaysians to travel domestically reflects their level of confidence in terms of health and safety in Malaysia after the MCO, albeit with “new norms” in travel habits. Tourplus also believes that the years of relentless effort in promoting domestic tourism are bearing fruits. Cuti-Cuti Malaysia will always be in the hearts of all Malaysians.
Taking cue, Tourplus is looking towards supporting millions of Malaysians discover good travel experiences via their app. CEO & founder of Tourplus, Rickson Goh (pic, right) points out, “Tourplus app is the perfect tool to enhance your travel experiences. The app is the most advanced tourism app in Malaysia and I am excited to share the development that has gone into it. With our whole redesigned user interface, new features have been introduced which truly help when you travel. We are targeting a download of 20,000 users within Q12021 and a revenue increase of at least 100% compared to Q12020.”
Pointing out that travelling to unknown places and trying to locate a restaurant for the first time can be one of the hardest decisions, theTourplus app helps you find a nearby restaurant and filter it according to your preferences,” says Muhammad Haikal Abd Rahman (pic, left), Tourplus VP of Product, at the launch.
To help you decide further, with the newly designed Discover function, the app allows you to check on photo or video reviews by other tourists, which will be able to give you an idea about the quality of the restaurant and what is on the menu. The app also has the capability to guide you to the location itself without you having to search for it via other apps like Google Maps or Waze.
The app which is equipped with an Advance Recommendation System is able to predict your preference and help you make the decision by showing you the most relevant restaurant you are highly likely to dine in. One of the other interesting elements attached to the app is that it is designed with a function that allows a review to be made so that the experiences can be shared with 3 easy steps - Take a photo, write a review to rate the merchant and share it, all in one easy button!
In conjunction with the launch, Tourplus is also launching a RM1,000 cashback campaign when using the Touplus app. It is a 5 month campaign that kicks off from 16 Nov 2020 to 31 March 2021. Touplus will announce the winners in a lucky draw each week within the duration of these dates - 16 Nov 2020 to 31 March 2021 on a weekly basis where three winners and 8 consolation prize winners will be announced via Facebook.
