Sidec launches Selangor Accelerator Programme 2023

Selangor Information Technology and Digital Economy Corporation (Sidec) has announced the launch of the sixth cohort of the Selangor Accelerator Programme (SAP) 2023. This initiative is backed by the Selangor State Government and supported by Affin Bank Bhd as main sponsor.

Sidec remains committed to spearheading the digital transformation of Selangor as ASEAN’s digital hub and to strengthening and growing the Selangor digitalisation ecosystem for SMEs,” says Yong Kai Ping (pic), CEO of Sidec.
The SAP 2023 is open for applications from now until 4 August 2023. The program focuses on the vertical elements of Artificial Intelligence (AI), Sustainability Impact, Healthtech, Agritech, and Biotech.
The SAP 2023 offers a comprehensive range of support for selected startups, including:
- Three-month intensive and structured program module comprising 11 workshops, three pitching clinics, five office-hour mentoring sessions, and a closed-door semi-final and final demo day.
- Expert guidance and feedback from experienced mentors and industry leaders.
- Networking opportunities and strategic partnerships with potential investors, customers, and collaborators. US$10,000 (MYR46,715) worth of cloud credits from Amazon Web Services (AWS), a strategic partner of the program.
- An exhibition booth at the prestigious 8th Selangor Smart City and Digital Economy Convention (SDEC) 2023.
- Access to a dedicated co-working space at Selangor Sandbox for one year.
SAP has been a launchpad for startups since its inception in 2018, nurturing over 150 startups, with 34% securing funding. Moreover, 70 startups have participated in overseas exposure and study trips.
In the previous edition, SAP 2022, four top-winner startups—Entomal Biotech, BlueDuck, Diet Ideas, and Swipey—secured funding within six months of completing the program.
