VADS launches cloud-based web security offering

  • Today's enterprise users consume Internet beyond traditional security perimeter
  • Service is offered with Zscaler Cloud Security, a market leader for secure web gateways

VADS launches cloud-based web security offeringTELEKOM Malaysia Bhd’s managed ICT/ BPO (Information & Communications Technology/ Business Process Outsourcing) service provider VADS Berhad has launched its VADS Cloud Based Web Security offering.

Aimed at corporations needing to protect their networks against malware and improve their web security, it protects corporate users who access the Internet from any location on any device, ensuring a safe and trusted Internet experience, VADS said in a statement.

“Security is paramount to any organisation out there and is one of the most critical factors taken into account by organisations when considering shifting to cloud technology,” said VADS chief executive officer Ahmad Azhar Yahya (pic).

“Today, we are proud to say that together with our partner Zscaler, we are able to offer a comprehensive and complete managed security service for cloud users. This will ensure that organisations and users have an additional layer of protection and that their data is safe within the cloud,” he claimed.

The service is offered together with Zscaler Cloud Security, which VADS said is a market leader in the Gartner Magic Quadrant for Secure Web Gateways.

“We are delighted to be selected by VADS as its key technology partner for its Cloud Based Web Security,” said Matt Bennet, Zscaler vice president for Asia Pacific and Japan.

“Now VADS’ customers can subscribe to the Zscaler global security gateway cloud platform, providing seamless real-time visibility and control of Internet threats and usage without the need to invest in hardware or software,” he added.

VADS Cloud Based Web Security further enhances the company’s Internet usage policies for web traffic by restricting access to inappropriate or potentially dangerous websites. The service is designed to offer better protection and faster response time at a much lower cost, the company added.

“Today's enterprise users consume the Internet beyond the traditional security perimeter. They bring their own mobile devices and apps to work; more mainstream applications are deployed in the cloud; and the widespread use of social media blurs the boundaries between corporate and personal use,” said Bennet.

“With more sophisticated security threats and greater control required of employee access across multiple devices and locations, VADS Cloud Based Web Security allows companies to focus on the delivery of business requirements rather than the deployment and maintenance of infrastructure,” he claimed.
