- Oppo’s VOOC Flash Charging is slated to come to the F9
- Other features to include large screen and unique diamond cut on its back
OPPO is preparing to launch their new smartphone, the F9. Though no release date has been made official for Malaysia, Oppo continues to drop details like cookie crumbs on what one can expect from the F9.
Judging from the marketing materials teased thus far, the F9 looks like it is targeted towards high fashion individuals as it drips style and emphasises fancy colours.
Speaking of colours, Oppo has hinted on its Facebook page that the F9 will be coming in three colours: Sunrise Red, Twilight Blue and Starry Purple. Each has a unique flower petal pattern or diamond cut on the back that makes the F9 standout.
In one of Oppo’s latest press releases, the company said the F9 will support its VOOC Flash Charging technology. Oppo claims this technology enables the F9 to charge at speeds of up to four times faster than conventional charging technology.
In addition, the processor is said to have five layers of protection from the charging adapter that also prevents the smartphone from being overheated.
Oppo’s F9 is expected to have a massive screen that Oppo dubs a ‘Waterdrop Screen’ design with a 19.5:9 aspect ratio and a screen-to-body ratio of 90.8%. Reports suggest the phone will have tiny ‘V’-shaped notch, which is unique in notch-crazy 2018.
Unlike the Facial Recognition only Find X, the Oppo F9 will have a fingerprint sensor below the phone’s dual cameras on the rear.
There is no word what the cameras will be like on the F9 but it is safe to assume that the selfie camera on the device will benefit from the Artificial Intelligence (AI) enhancement present on Oppo’s current batch of selfie-centric smartphones.
Judging from some reports, the phone may come powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 processor with 8GB and 256GB of internal storage.
Oppo is expected to release the F9 sometime in August 2018.
