HONOR’s View20: A smartphone with a powerful camera that is built for travel

MODERN travel can be extremely challenging. The long lines at airport security, random flight delays or passing the time on the plane during a long haul flight.

Indeed, the stresses on our smartphones are intensified as you demand more of your phone when travelling, browsing multiple websites and apps to search for the best attractions and food to savour. You would also want to take excellent photos of your vacation so you can share them with your loved ones back home. All this may tax your phone to the point of exhausting its battery.

Fortunately, the smartphones in our pockets are miniaturised computers that can help ease these challenges. The recently launched HONOR View20 is exactly the kind of flagship smartphone that can help ease your travel problems. Packing a class-leading 48-Megapixel camera, the View20 captures photos like the best of them under any lighting situation.

Don’t you worry about running low on battery when you need to stay in touch while on the road, the power efficient Kirin 980 chipset and 4,000 mAh battery will keep you running even at the end of a long day.

With that being said, here are four reasons why the HONOR View20 is the perfect travel companion for the jet setting global traveller.

HONOR’s View20: A smartphone with a powerful camera that is built for travel

1. An all-encompassing All-View display

If 2018 was the year of the notch, then 2019 may be the year we do away with the notch, once and for all. Enter the HONOR View20 – the first flagship smartphone to introduce the punch-hole camera in Malaysia. Sporting a 6.4-inch LCD display, the screen literally hugs the sides of the phone, thanks to the small 25-Megapixel front facing camera embedded flawlessly into the top left corner of the HONOR View20. With a diameter of only 4.5mm, users get the full viewing experience thanks to the 91.8% screen-to-body ratio.

Essentially that means a regular movie presented in its 16:9 aspect ratio can fill the entire screen. This is great for watching content like movies or TV shows from your favourite streaming service or downloaded movies on the plane.

Don’t worry about the small punch-hole camera on the front as it is fairly unobtrusive to the viewing experience. When held in landscape view, the hole is actually situated on the bottom left corner so you get content that fills the entire screen without being cut off by a notch.

In case you were wondering, most apps are able to take advantage of the all-view display including games, so you should find no shortage of uses for the View20’s big screen.

2. A 48-Megapixel camera with you so you can leave your camera at home

When you are travelling the last thing you want to do is worry about charging a separate device as you travel and explore a new city. The HONOR View 20 comes with the world’s first 48-Megapixel rear camera that has a Sony IMX586 sensor and is supplemented by Artificial Intelligence (AI) capabilities to add that extra sparkle to your photos.

Quite honestly, most cameras on smartphones are more than adequate at capturing everyday photos so why not use them for travel? The View20 comes with an amazing 48-Megapixel camera that simply captures more details than the average smartphone camera.

Quite simply you only need to point, snap a photo and be amazed at the crazy amount of detailed captured within a single shot. Each photo is 8,000 x 6,000 pixels giving you plenty of room to crop to get a closer look at that statue in the distance.

These pixel dense photos will definitely be good enough to be printed for your photo album at the end of the trip.

Then there is also the added 48-Megapixel AI Ultra Clarity mode snaps multiple images and combines them to a clear optimised image that lets you zoom up close to subjects and still see details like text clearly.

That’s not all as the AI camera features can also aid budding photographers who may not be familiar with the technical aspects of photography to capture beautiful photos.

Sometimes capturing still photos may not be enough and videos are capable of accurately capturing the mood of the moment. Fortunately, there is an option to record up to 4K UHD quality so you can relive your favourite memories on your 4K TV.

For some added fun there is also the new 960 frames per second (fps) slow-motion mode that captures fast-moving subjects with remarkable detail.

3. Possessing the Intelligence and Stamina to keep up on your trip

The HONOR View20 offers flagship performance with the inclusion of Huawei’s top-of-the-line Kirin 980 SoC (system-on-chip), built using a super-efficient 7nanometer manufacturing process that allows for better performance without sacrificing battery life.

In case you were wondering, yes the Kirin 980 SoC is the very same processor used on Huawei’s flagship Mate 20 series, so you can come to expect similar level of performance. This includes being able to push the phone harder running graphic intensive apps like games to the limits.

Titles like Player Unknown’s Battlegrounds (PUBG) and Asphalt 9 work flawlessly thanks to the included GPU Turbo feature that provides some extra gaming power for buttery smoother frame rates. Expect to dominate the battlefield or racetrack with the View20.

Even when you are gaming furiously while on the road, don’t sweat it because the View20 stays cool throughout thanks to the Liquid Cooling Tech with its included heat pipe and coolant that dissipates the heat generated during intense gaming sessions.

That being said, the processor paired with a generous helping of RAM (available in either 6GB or 8GB) meaning that apps stay in memory longer without needing to be reloaded, so you can easily jump between apps without losing any progress.

Not forgetting battery life because that is crucial as you travel, the View20’s large 4,000mAh battery is easily able to last two full days so you can forget about bringing that powerbank along and just enjoy yourself.

4. Doubles as a portable computer that connects with any Smart TV

Having snapped many photos and videos with the View20 on a trip, it can be tedious transferring all those files to a computer. But there is an easy way to show your holiday photos without the hassles of connecting the View20 to your TV.

The new wireless screen sharing feature allows you to project your phone onto your TV without even requiring a USB-Type C cable. To do so, you only need to pull down the notification shade and enable the Wireless Projection feature. Doing so engages the View20 to search for nearby Smart TVs on the same WiFi network.

This will then bring up a Windows PC desktop environment. So not only can you show your photos and videos on a large screen display but at the click of a button, you can do so much more. You essentially have control of your phone in a new way meaning you can browse the Internet, watch Youtube and even do some actual productivity work like edit word documents with a wireless keyboard and mouse connected.

Truly, a versatile device, the HONOR View20 certainly offers all you could want and more in a mobile device both during your travels and after it.
