Lifestyle expectations

There are some things for gamers to look forward to. Acer Malaysia introduced the Predator Orion 3000 desktop PC, alongside two Type-C monitors for gaming.

The Predator Orion is classified as the younger brother in the Orion series, but it’s no slouch. It packs up to 10th Gen Intel Core i7 Processor with an NVIDIA GeForce RTX2060 SUPER GPU into a space-saving design. It comes with 8GB of RAM standard, with additional slots for users to easily add on memory up to 64GB.

Other specs include Stable Killer E2600, which helps fuel high-speed gigabit network performance, as well as Wi-Fi 6. The Predator Orion 3000 is also equipped with dual custom-engineered FrostBlade fans. Aesthetics wise, it features up to 16.7 million colours allowing gamers to customise the vertical light bars at the front of the case and both FrostBlade fans.

The Predator Orion 3000 comes in two variants. The more powerful version, featuring a 10th Gen Intel Core i7 processor with the NVIDIA GeForce RTX2060 SUPER, retails for RM6,799; while the variant with Intel Core i5 and NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1660 SUPER goes for RM4,099.

This desktop gaming PC can be paired with the Predator XB273U GX, a 27-inch display that features 270Hz refresh rate and 0.5ms response time. For prosumers, the Acer CB342CK C is a 34-inch UltraWide QHD IPS display with the Acer ErgoStand, which allows for easier adjustments, tilts and swivels.

The new monitors price at RM3,299 and RM1,799 respectively.

This newly-announced line-up does have one glaring omission – the Acerpure Cool, a 2-in-1 air circulator and purifier that Acer announced in October.

According to Acer Malaysia's Director of Consumer Business, Product and Marketing Johnson Seet, the Acerpure Cool will be arriving “very soon”. They are in the midst of local processes such as obtaining certification for the device. As this is a new product for Acer, the company looks to have everything approved before rolling out the product.

“Do stay tuned, we are actually speeding things up. January is a dry and hot season, so it will be cool to have this product when you’re staying home. So do stay tuned,” he says.
