LENOVO has announced a range of touch-enabled PCs which come in a variety of form factors, such as the IdeaPads Z400, Z500, U410, and S400 Touch devices, as well as the IdeaPad Yoga 11S.
This new lineup of Windows 8 touch-optimized devices adds to the ultra-portable IdeaPad U Series Ultrabooks and the multimedia intensive IdeaPad Z Series laptops which are designed for small businesses, amongst others.
Lenovo also introduced the IdeaCentre C440 Touch Series all-in-one (AIO) desktop, which it claims reshapes the affordable home computer into a smart, space-saving all-in-one PC.
“People love touch – it’s everywhere in today’s PC Plus world and is driving new interactions with devices and digital content,” said Khoo Hung Chuan, country general manager, Lenovo Malaysia.
“We’ve aggressively integrated touch across our consumer PCs so that we have one of the largest portfolios of Windows 8 touch products available, as well as maintain our current No1 position as the nation’s largest PC manufacturer.”
The IdeaPad U410 is 18mm thin and ultra-responsive, waking up from sleep in just one second with Instant Resume. The machine comes with up to a third-generation Intel Core i7 processor, the latest NVIDIA GeForce graphics with DirectX 11 and an extended battery life for all-day computing, Lenovo said.
The IdeaPad Z400 and Z500 laptops are the latest-generation of the Z Series and are optimised for the Windows 8 touch-based user interface. They support 10-point touch, feature specialised stereo speakers for extra bass with Dolby Home Theatre v4, are equipped with up to 3rd-gen standard voltage Intel Core i7 processors and include the latest NVIDIA GeForce graphics technology.
These laptops give consumers a large 14 to 15.6-inch touch screen and the backlit AccuType keyboard lets users comfortably see what they’re typing even when they’re in the dark.
The IdeaPad S400 notebook features a slim 1" profile and a tactile metallic finish with a widescreen display, lightweight design, AccuType keyboard and large touchpad; making it the perfect travel companion.
The 11.6-inch Yoga 11S Ultrabook convertible (pic) comes with choices of a powerful third generation Core i3 or i5 Intel processor giving consumers the ability to create high-performance content and presentations with seamless graphics that make it a great entertainment device.
The Lenovo C440 AIO has a 21.5-inch HD LED display, up to 3rd-gen Intel Core i5 processors, supports up to NVIDIA GeForce 615 2GB graphics, and is ideal for gaming. Additional features include an Intel HD Graphics GPU, a 500GB HDD, as well as WiFi, USB 2.0, HDMI and Ethernet connectivity options.
