VMware and MDeC in pact to roll out data centre virtualisation certification

  • Malaysia one of first to offer full range of VMware certifications globally
  • Certification to be added to MSC Malaysia MyProCert (SRI) programme

VIRTUALISATION company VMware and national ICT custodian Multimedia Development Corporation (MDeC) have announced that Malaysia will offer a full range of VMware Data Centre Virtualisation Certifications.
 
The VMware Certified Design Expert (VCDX) certification will be added into the MSC Malaysia MyProCert (SRI) programme, which aims to help enhance the skills of Malaysian professionals in the ICT industry, the two said in a statement.
 
Participants of the programme will be eligible for subsidised training course and certification fees, as well as receive the MSC Malaysia MyProCert (SRI) incentive, which will be reimbursed to companies and individuals who pass the required certification examinations.
 
The net fee inclusive of the MSC Malaysia MyProCert incentive will see savings of up to RM4,480 (US$1,373) from the training course and certification fee.
 
Other VMware certifications available in the programme are VMware Certified Professional (VCP) and VMware Certified Advanced Professional (VCAP).
 
VMware and MDeC in pact to roll out data centre virtualisation certificationSince the introduction of VMware Data Centre Virtualisation certifications, there are more than 1,000 VMware-certified professionals in Malaysia, the company said.
 
“Local talent with the necessary skills to deploy VMware leading solutions are in high demand, and Malaysia being the one of the first to offer the full range of VMware Data Centre Virtualisation Certifications globally is significant,” said VMware Malaysia country manager Laurence Si (pic).
 
“We are committed to collaborating closely with MDeC to introduce more of these courses to IT professionals in Malaysia and to equip them with the relevant technical skills to help develop Malaysia’s digital economy,” he added.
 
Through the MSC Malaysia MyProCert (SRI) programme, VMware said it works with MDeC to offer world-class training and certification designed to validate and recognise IT professionals with the technical capabilities and real-world experience needed to effectively design, install, deploy, manage, and support VMware solutions.
 
“MDeC is proud that Malaysia is one of the first to offer the full range of VMware Data Centre Virtualisation certifications globally,” said MDeC chief executive officer Badlisham Ghazali.
 
“The VMware certifications are a timely and strategic addition to the training programmes offered to our ICT professionals, as it provides them with the necessary skills and knowledge needed to fulfil the demands of the world-class companies that Malaysia attracts,” he added.
