- Secures Goods Distribution Practice for Medical Devices certification
TNT Express Malaysia has officially launched its first medical warehouse and distribution centre, investing over RM7.5 million (US$2.4 million) in this Med Tech Centre.
In a statement, it also said it was the first express delivery and logistics company in Malaysia to secure the Goods Distribution Practice for Medical Devices (GDPMD) certification, providing highly specialised distribution solutions through the centre.
The medical technology sector has become increasingly important in the healthcare area, the company said.
“The Med Tech Centre is dedicated to the medical devices market, particularly the surgical devices and instruments that require highly specialised distribution to hospitals such as time-critical delivery, return management and consignment stock management.” said TNT Express Malaysia managing director S.C. Chong (pic).
TNT Express Malaysia said it achieved the GDPMD accreditation on its operating process and infrastructure setup, which ensures safe handling and service quality for the medical technology products under its care.
“The Med Tech Centre is designed to create a leaner and more agile supply chain as national healthcare budgets face increasing pressure.
“By being GDPMD-certified, we are able to ensure operation efficiency, allowing customers to save cost by minimising defects and rejects when the products are consolidated at our facility,” Chong claimed.
