AMADEUS, a technology partner for the global travel industry, has announced the integration of its Amadeus Travel Office Manager (Atom) with the Sage 50 back-office accounting solution.
The integration between the Amadeus Selling Platform, a retail application for travel professionals, Atom and Sage is the first-of-its-kind in the industry, Amadeus said in a statement, offering a complete and fully automated system that helps travel agents improve efficiency, increase profit and optimise business operations.
Developed specifically for travel agencies in Asia Pacific, Atom is a mid-office solution that uses a web-based platform that allows travel professionals to access the system anytime, anywhere.
It gives travel agencies easy control over booking data by automatically importing passenger information (passenger name, routing, ticket number and fares) directly from the Amadeus Selling Platform.
Sage completes the accounting process, managing the general ledger and generating financial documents in a timely and efficient manner, Amadeus said.
“From the start, we designed Atom to meet the specific needs of our Asia Pacific travel agency customers, who often told us they lacked adequate mid-office systems,” said Bruno des Fontaines (pic), vice president of the Customer Solutions Group at Amadeus Asia Pacific.
“With the Sage integration, we further address their needs by offering a complete end-to-end solution that will help them achieve even greater levels of efficiency and profits,” he added.
UK-based Sage, which established its Malaysian operations in 1988, claims to have more than 180,000 customers in the country.
“We are pleased to work with Amadeus, which like us, are committed to offering best-in-class solutions to help customers maintain business leadership,” said Michael Cho, managing director of Sage Software Sdn Bhd.
Chin Wai Chee, director of YHH Travel Sdn Bhd, said: “The integrated Atom and Sage 50 solution has saved us time spent on operational tasks and allowed us to focus more on delivering better service to our customers, ultimately helping to increase our profits.”
Amadeus said it will deliver the integrated solution to travel agencies in Singapore and other Asia Pacific markets in coming months.
