Akamai appoints regional manager for Asean

• Rick Lanman to oversee Akamai’s ops in Malaysia and neighbouring countries
• Will use 20yr industry experience to help organisations leverage the Net, cloud

AKAMAI Technologies Inc has appointed Rick Lanman (pic ) regional manager of its Asean operations.
 
He will be responsible for driving sales and marketing in Malaysia, Indonesia, the Philippines, Singapore and Thailand, the company said in a statement.
 
Lanman has over 20 years of experience in the IT industry which have given him a deep understanding of the factors influencing and driving IT trends and cloud adoption rates across the region, Akamai said.
 
He will use his experience to help organisations in Malaysia and the rest of Asean leverage the Internet and cloud computing to access the global marketplace and achieve greater heights, it added.
 
Over the span of his career, Lanman has worked with some of the IT industry’s most recognisable vendors, resellers and distributors. He specialises in software sales, channel management and programme development, enterprise sales and data centre technologies.
 
Akamai provides cloud services for delivering, optimising and securing online content and business applications.
