Sourcefire appoints M.Tech its distributor in Malaysia

  • M.Tech, with operations in 15 countries, to also offer Sourcefire solutions to new South-East Asia territories
  • Collaboration to include on-site sales, marketing as well as technical support to M.Tech’s reseller partners

Sourcefire appoints M.Tech its distributor in MalaysiaCYBER-SECURITY solutions provider Sourcefire Inc said it has signed a distribution agreement with M-Security Technology Sdn Bhd (M.Tech) to market and distribute Sourcefire’s security solutions throughout Malaysia.
 
M.Tech is a regional distributor of IT security, application delivery network and video communication solutions, with operations in 15 countries (including Malaysia), Sourcefire said in a statement.
 
M.Tech will now offer Sourcefire’s security solutions including the Sourcefire Next-Generation IPS (NGIPS), NGIPS with Application Control, Sourcefire Next-Generation Firewall (NGFW), and FireAMP Advanced Malware Protection.
 
According to IDC’s Asia Pacific Security Appliance Quarterly Tracker (December 2012), the continuous maturing of the Asia Pacific IT security market has seen a growing number of highly publicized security breaches and threat events.
 
In response, the IT security appliance market in Asia Pacific is set to reach US$2.8 billion by 2015 in customer revenue, making Asia Pacific the quickest and fastest growing region in the world, Sourcefire said.
 
Ivan Wen (pic, left), Sourcefire Malaysia country manager, said the recent findings from IDC confirm the increasing requirement for security solutions across the region.
 
“We are delighted to partner with M.Tech, which works with some of the top security vendors in the market. M.Tech’s established presence in Malaysia will allow Sourcefire to introduce our offerings to new potential markets in order to meet the emerging IT security demands,” he said.

Sourcefire and M.Tech will work together to further support companies in Malaysia seeking next-generation security technologies and solutions to address advanced malware, the two companies said.
 
Collaboration between the two will include providing on-site sales, marketing as well as technical support to M.Tech’s reseller partners.
 
In addition, Sourcefire has also appointed M.Tech as its value-added distributor in other South-East Asian countries including Singapore, Thailand, Indonesia, India and Hong Kong.
