Maxis introduces suite of Islamic content and services

• Customers can access over 30 Islamic products and services across devices
• Free Imsak and Buka Puasa times via SMS during month of Ramadan

MAXIS Berhad said its Muslim customers can now access an integrated suite of Islamic content and services in conjunction with its Salam Ikhlas 2012 campaign.
 
All they need to do is dial *222# on any mobile phone or visit www.maxis.com.my/ikhlas to discover more than 30 Islamic products and services which is available all year-round. Customers can access these services across all devices in a variety of forms such as SMS, MMS, apps, video, audio and ebooks, which can be read on iPads, Android devices and PCs.
 
Key services under Salam Ikhlas 2012 include free imsak and ‘buka puasa’ times, where customers are provided with free alerts yearly allowing them to stay informed of the exact times during the holy month of Ramadan, Maxis said in a statement.
 
Another key service is mZakat, a channel for busy Maxis customers in the states of Selangor, Sabah, Kedah, Perlis, Pahang, Terengganu, Kelantan and Melaka, who can fulfill their religious obligation during the month of Ramadan by contributing their zakat payment via SMS.
 
“We introduced Salam Ikhlas back in 2008 with free Ramadan and Haj content. We have now expanded our range of offerings which our customers can access conveniently at their fingertips, either at home, work or on the go,” said Shanti Jusnita Johari, head of marketing strategy at Maxis.
 
“Apart from free Imsak and Buka Puasa times alerts and mZakat, we are also offering Ramadan videos, Takaful protection, relevant mobile content through the Tazkirah Portal and much more,” she added.
