HONG Leong Bank Berhad (HLBB) has appointed Galvin Yeo (pic) as its head of digital banking with effect March 1.
Yeo has a degree in Electronics Engineering and a Masters in Computer Science, and served 20 years in banking, telecommunications and consulting, HLBB said in a statement. He most recently was with DiGi Telecommunications, where he headed financial services strategies and initiatives.
In his new role at HLBB, Yeo will oversee and define overall digital strategies and harness the trends in emerging technologies, which include digital banking channels such as Internet and mobile banking across businesses.
“With the advent of digital technology, banking customers increasingly will use multiple channels simultaneously without differentiation,” said Datuk Yvonne Chia, HLBB group managing director.
“HLBB aims to equip our customers with the key to access personal and business information whenever and however they need it. This will ensure that our banking services are intrinsically weaved into our customers’ digital lifestyle,” she added.

Apart from banking, Hong Leong Financial Group is involved in the provision of insurance and takaful, as well as investment banking, unit trust, fund management and stock broking services.
