Brocade names new head for South-East AsiaBROCADE has named Lily Foo (pic) as head for South-East Asia, responsible for charting the company’s overall growth across the region.

She will be based in Singapore and report directly to Brocade vice president for Asia Pacific Charlie Foo, the company said in a statement.

According to IDC, South-East Asian IT spending will hit US$48 billion for 2012, representing a market growth of 13% year-on-year, Brocade said, citing the Southeast Asia ICT 2012 Top 10 Predictions, IDC Asia/Pacific report.

As the regional IT markets mature, CIOs are expected to invest in cloud computing, on-demand services, mobility and social media tools, with a heavy focus on reducing the overall cost structure and increasing efficiency within the organization.

Foo joined Brocade in 2008 and was most recently senior manager of Distribution Sales and Programs for Asia Pacific, where she worked closely with regional channel partners on localizing sales programs and leading program logistics to help drive revenue growth.

Prior to Brocade, Foo was regional client director at Datacraft. She also held global account management roles with Avaya, Verizon (MCI Worldcom) and SingTel.

“Lily [Foo] has been instrumental in developing our regional partner ecosystem and contributing significantly to the company’s success since she joined Brocade,” said Charlie Foo. “Lily’s appointment is an important step toward delivering our strategy for Asia Pacific. Her demonstrated track record and experience will complement her new role in capitalizing on the burgeoning Ethernet networking opportunities while maintaining our storage networking leadership across the region.”

“The South-East Asian market presents numerous opportunities for new businesses, especially with high level of interest in cloud computing from Singapore, Malaysia and Thailand,” said Lily Foo.

“I am excited to take on this new role and look forward to working closely with our customers and partners to further our success in the region.”
