Taobao and Malaysia’s launch new retail concept furniture store

  • The 4500 sq ft Experience Centre is at The Square, Jaya One, in Petaling Jaya
  • Will allow shoppers to see, touch and feel products before making purchases online

TAOBAO, a social commerce marketplace under China’s Alibaba Group, and, a Malaysin online home design platform, unveiled the first Taobao Home Experience Centre at The Square, Jaya One, in Petaling Jaya, Selangor.

The new retail concept store is the result of a partnership with Taobao’s home & living channel Jiyoujia. Established in 2015, Jiyoujia offers home and living products curated from items on the Taobao platform.

Commenting on the launch, Mickey Xiong, country director of Taobao and Tmall World for the Southeast Asia & Hong Kong markets, said, “Today’s launch is yet another demonstration of our commitment to partnering with Malaysian businesses and serving customers better with innovative and digital-enabled services. The 4500 sq ft Experience Centre will allow Malaysian shoppers to see, touch and feel products from Jiyoujia, especially the larger items, before making purchases online. founder Sim Moh Sheng, said, “The Experience Centre is more than just a showroom; it is designed as a one-stop shop to bridge the gap between the online and offline shopping experience.
