Allianz General to be in NEXEA Corporate Accelerator Programme

  • Joins accelerator programme for 2nd year
  • Applications for programme now open until 31 July

Allianz General to be in NEXEA Corporate Accelerator Programme ALLIANZ General Insurance Company (Malaysia) Bhd is set to feature in NEXEA Corporate Accelerator Programme 2021 for the second year running, renewing its interest in discovering potential partnerships.

Chief executive officer (CEO) Sean Wang said the company was keen to partner NEXEA again as the corporate accelerator programme offers access to some of the best up and coming startups currently in the market.

“Following the programme last year, Allianz General had access to the top 20 startups, coming away from the programme with three corporate matching and two partnerships,” he said in a statement.

He added that Allianz General currently has over 50 active digital partnerships across various sectors and are always on the lookout for partners that offer fresh, bold ideas that can change or elevate the way it does business, and transform how customers can benefit from products and services.

Allianz General’s affiliation with startups has seen it partner organisations such as, who helped create Aida, Malaysia’s first customer-facing AI insurance chatbot, as well as distribution partners such as SPEEDHOME, SOCAR, PolicyStreet , and RinggitPlus.

“Our experience with NEXEA has been great and electing to join this year’s programme was the easiest decision,” said Wang.

“Our goal this year is to identify potential partnerships that offer distribution opportunities that are mutually beneficial and startups that have sustainable business models and capabilities to expand into newer markets.”

NEXEA Corporate Accelerator 2021 is co-organised by Malaysian Global Innovation and Creativity Centre (MaGIC), Malaysian Business Angel Network (MBAN), Malaysia Digital Economy Corporation (MDEC), Cyberview Sdn Bhd and AWS Activate, and supported by Cradle Fund.

It will feature corporate partners Allianz General and Spritzer amongst others.

Open to all Malaysian-based technology startups, the five-month long programme is designed to allow participating startups to gain business traction, improve on strategy and the other business fundamentals with guidance from mentors and experts, NEXEA said.

Participating startups will also benefit from a six-month entrepreneurs programme where they will learn and grow with their peers and mentors, it added.

Applications for the programme are open until 31 July 2021. Click here to apply or find out more about the programme.
