SMEs get helping hand with Maxis Digital Readiness Index

SMEs have supported the Malaysian economy tirelessly all these years. Even in the face of sudden change, they have persevered. Inspired by their grit and spirit, Maxis Business has stepped forward to give back to them – with the Maxis Digital Readiness Index, designed to help them stay ahead in the new normal through digitalisation.

Helping SMEs realise their full potential

As noted by Wan Junaidi, Minister of Entrepreneur Development and Cooperative, “For SMEs and entrepreneurs to grow in the domestic market and expand into international markets, digital readiness will be imperative.”

This is where the Maxis Digital Readiness Index comes into play to help SMEs stay ahead in the new normal – by guiding them in their digitalisation journey.

The free Maxis Digital Readiness Index assessment will help SMEs see where their businesses stand in terms of being digitally ready. It also goes beyond that to help identify gaps in a business and offer suggestions for improvement through a personalised report.

While most business consultations come at a cost, the Maxis SME Help Squad will provide the assessment for free – and help SMEs apply for the SME Digitalisation Grant which is worth up to US$1,237 (RM5,000).

The Maxis Digital Readiness Index is a first-of-its-kind online interactive self-assessment tool designed to help SMEs assess the operational efficiency, employee productivity and customer engagement levels of their businesses.

Initial assessment results gathered from 2,000 SMEs revealed that most professional services businesses are nearly ready in their digitalisation journey with a score of 62%. However, most retail, F&B and manufacturing businesses are not, with retail and F&B both scoring 60%, and manufacturing scoring 48%.

This clearly shows that there’s more SMEs can do to realise their full potential through digitalisation. They can start by putting their businesses ahead with the Maxis Digital Readiness Index assessment.

As the new normal has shown, globally, digitalisation is crucial for businesses to stay ahead. Maxis Business believes that helping SMEs stay ahead in the business means being a committed partner; from helping them identify where their businesses stand in the digitalisation journey, to helping them apply for the SME Digitalisation Grant through the specially trained Maxis SME Help Squad.

Take the assessment here to see how digitally ready your business is.
