MuleSoft names William Fu regional VP for AsiaSAN Francisco-based integration software specialist MuleSoft announced it has appointed William Fu (pic) as regional vice president of Asia.

He will lead sales operations for the South-East Asia and Greater China region, where he will be responsible for developing the market and driving growth through channel partnerships, the company said in a statement.

Based in Singapore, Fu will report to Will Bosma, vice president of Asia Pacific.

“The opportunity in Asia is driven in large part by the pace of innovation and progress around technologies, including e-commerce and mobile,” said Bosma.

“William [Fu] brings strong regional understanding, execution capability, and a proven track record of building strong, sustainable businesses in Asia.

“With his leadership and expertise, [he] will play a key role in taking MuleSoft to the next level as the company continues to accelerate its growth in the region,” he added.

Established in 2006, MuleSoft provides an integration platform designed to unlock the full potential of applications and data through API-led connectivity, both on-premises and in the cloud.

Its Anypoint Platform gives organisations the freedom to connect what they want, when they want, without the need for custom point-to-point code, the company said.

It launched its Asia Pacific operations in 2013, and today has offices in Singapore, Hong Kong and Sydney.

“The technology landscape in Asia is evolving rapidly on all fronts,” said Fu.

“Asian businesses are responding to the same key forces that are powering innovation in other parts of the world, including cloud, mobile and big data.

“Specific trends, such as the ‘de-tariffication’ of the insurance industry in Malaysia, and Asian governments leveraging big data to enhance citizen security and resources, are creating particular urgency in our region for transformation and a new approach to connectivity,” he added.

Prior to MuleSoft, Fu was in various sales and business leadership roles, including director of sales of Asia Pacific and Japan at Actuate Corporation and general manager of South-East Asia at Experian Decision Analytics. He has also held senior sales leadership roles at Fico, IBM and SAS.

He holds a bachelor’s degree with honours in economics and statistics from the University of Alberta in Canada.
