CELCOM Axiata Bhd said it has entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Volksbahn Technologies Sdn Bhd to provide communication and digital services to commuters on the Klang Valley’s LRT (light rail transit) and monorail services.
The MoU marks the first-ever collaboration between a telco and VBT, a smart city infrastructure provider, Celcom said in a statement.
Celcom chief executive officer Shazalli Ramly said the strategic partnership would help Celcom leverage on daily LRT and monorail users in the Klang Valley.
“This initiative will not only address the LRT and monorail commuters’ need for a greater access to integrated and smooth connectivity options, but will also open up opportunities for other companies which are expecting new and innovative services,” said VBT chairman and managing director Mohammad Hakim Low Abdullah.
