IGLOOHOME, a Singapore-based start-up which creates smart digital door locks announced that it is partnering Allianz Malaysia to bundle igloohome products with the insurer’s customisable home insurance plan - Smart Home Cover.

CEO of igloohome Anthony Chow said, “igloohome’s mission is to make lives simpler, safer and smarter, and we work with partners to make that a reality. We’re really excited to be partnering Allianz to extend home insurance plans to our Malaysian customers as an additional layer of protection for a greater peace of mind.”

Smart Home Cover is a customisable home insurance product with five components - HouseOwner (Building), HouseHolder (Content), Mortgage Loan Installment Protection, HomeFix and Landlord Insurance – which provides optional coverage against wear-and-tear, tenant damage and mortgage loan installments.

“A lot of us are guilty of spending money on anti-theft locks, yet end up keeping our spare keys in potted plants and shoes around the house. Now, with our partnership with igloohome, Allianz Malaysia is able to enhance our modular home insurance, Smart Home Cover, to offer our customers increased security and total control of their homes,” said Michael Fong, head of Digital Partnerships and Innovation for Allianz General Insurance Company (Malaysia) Bhd.

“Through local reseller Hafele Malaysia, Allianz Malaysia customers and home owners in Malaysia now have the option to upgrade their existing locks to igloohome’s smart locks - Deadbolt 2S, Keybox 2 and Smart Mortise – depending on their preference and security needs. It is perfect for homeowners to short-term rentals and offers them added convenience, security, and peace of mind knowing their homes is well and truly protected,” added Fong.

“Allianz Malaysia’s partnership with igloohome is indicative that the smart home industry is growing very quickly, and that consumer expectations are that smart locks go beyond just the hardware device. We feel confident that home owners in Malaysia would see the value in this partnership” said Chow.

The igloohome products and insurance plan bundle will be made available on local reseller Hafele Malaysia’s website.
