Zalora cofounder Cooper McGuire joins Ensogo as COO

E-COMMERCE company Ensogo Ltd has announced the appointment of Zalora cofounder Cooper McGuire (pic) as its chief operating officer.
His appointment marks the company’s accelerated move towards a focused mobile marketplace business, Ensogo said in a statement.
McGuire has extensive experience in e-commerce, financial and technology industries, and specialises in building and scaling e-commerce businesses, and is an expert on emerging market business development, it added.
Singapore-headquartered Ensogo is listed on the Australian Securities Exchange (ASX), and operates a network of portals in Hong Kong, Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines, Singapore and Thailand.

“Cooper [McGuire] is a seasoned and trusted leader who consistently delivers results,” said Ensogo cofounder and chief executive officer Kris Marszalek.
“He is uniquely qualified to drive strategic prioritisation and accountability within Ensogo.
“Ensogo has gained exceptionally strong momentum in our mobile marketplace over the past months, and his leadership will prove invaluable as we enter the next phase of growth,” he added.
At Zalora Group, he served as chief financial officer. During his tenure, he was responsible for the company’s core infrastructure and spearheaded Zalora’s successful raising of US$360 million in capital from global blue-chip investors including Rocket Internet, JP Morgan Asset Management, Kinnevik, Access Industries and Summit Partners, Ensogo said.
“Ensogo’s strategy has never been more compelling,” said McGuire.
“The growth opportunities in the marketplace are enormous and I am incredibly excited to be working with the team to drive these opportunities forward,” he added.
