Malaysian consumers just cannot get enough of smartphones, buying more of them each year to bring annual sales volume to yet another peak in 2014 at 8.5 million units, according to GfK reports.
The insatiable hunger for the latest tablets in Malaysia is driving the continued growth in sales of this popular technology, according to GfK.
Nearly 450,000 tablets flew off Malaysian shelves from January to May this year, over 170,000 or 61% more compared to the first five months of last year.
The uptrend in tablet adoption saw around 823,000 units of the gadget being snapped up by consumers in Malaysia in 2012, reflecting a whopping growth of 87% or 384,000 units more compared to 2011.
Market research company GfK has appointed Selinna Chin as general manager of GfK Malaysia with immediate effect.
