Microsoft unveils Windows Phone 8
Microsoft Corp unveiled its Windows Phone 8 smartphone operating system, and showcased a range of new smartphones from Nokia, Samsung and HTC, each with their own differentiated designs, colors and features. Major mobile operators and handset partners across Asia Pacific will start selling Windows Phone 8 in the coming weeks, it said.

HTC faces tough quarter ahead as sales slow regionally
HTC Corp faces an uphill battle in its handset sales going into its third quarter, noting that sales for its devices in all regions except China are expected to decline. The Taiwanese handset giant forecasted as much as a 23% fall in its overall revenue, according to a report from Reuters.
HTC opens dedicated call center
TAIWANESE smartphone giant HTC has launched a dedicated Malaysian customer service support call center in a bid to better serve its local customers, the company announced in a statement.
The call center would enable customers to submit queries on technical support and repair services, and the center will also provide general feedback on HTC smartphones to customers.
