INDONESIAN online travel and lifestyle platform Traveloka launched the beta version of its car rental services which can be accessed directly from the Traveloka App.
Offering a variety of traveling needs integrated in one application, the car rental booking services is as easy as purchasing flight tickets and other travelling needs.
“After the launch of Bus & Shuttle, now Traveloka also offers our customers a solution for their transportation needs through innovation and technology. This car-rental service is a manifestation of Traveloka’s continuous commitment in providing a pleasant traveling experience for our customers,” said Traveloka senior vice president of business development Christian Suwarna.
Car rental services are available in 11 cities namely, Jakarta, Bali, Medan, Yogyakarta, Makassar, Palembang, Malang, Balikpapan, Surabaya, Semarang, and Bandung, complete with driver services and the option to purchase additional packages, such as all-inclusive package covering fuel, toll, as well as the driver’s meal cost or accommodation to cover their overnight stay during out-of-town trips.
Partnering with more than 100 car rental providers, customers can select their car rental providers based on their needs including the desired car types.
Completing customers’ transportation options, this service also introduces standardised car rental services that come with a price that includes car and driver rental fee for 12 hours.
Travel for Eid
The beginning of Ramadan usually marks the perfect time for customers to purchase their flight tickets or plan a vacation.
Based on Traveloka’s internal data, air transportation is still the primary choice for customers when making their Eid homecoming trips, with 60% choosing to travel by plane, followed by 12% on train and 2% on bus.
In terms of favourite destinations, Traveloka says that Surabaya, Medan, and Makassar are the top three destinations for the Eid homecoming season. Data also shows that 62% of Indonesians make the homecoming trip with their family.
“This study becomes the background of our commitment to continuously focus on our customers’ needs, so that our products and services can help facilitate customers in preparing their holiday trip, supporting their lifestyle and making silaturahmi with their loved ones a lot easier,” explains Traveloka public relations director Sufintri Rahayu (main pic).
Traveloka offers flight, hotel, train, flight and hotel packages, activities and attractions, connectivity, airport transfers, and culinary directories. It has established partnerships with more than 100 domestic and international airlines, serving more than 200,000 routes worldwide.
It serves consumers in Indonesia, Thailand, Vietnam, Malaysia, Singapore and the Philippines. Its mobile application has been downloaded more than 40 million times regionally.
Sufintri adds, “We had been expanding our business regionally since 2015, and we have branches in each country. Our main purpose for expansion was not only to leverage on business, but also to attract more tourists to Indonesia.”
