- Will accelerate PHI-Integration’s execution on its vision for #DataDrivenIndonesia into hyperdrive
- Collaborates with Skystar Ventures (Universitas Multimedia Nusantara) to introduce DQLab
PHI-Integration, a software company that provides data analytics and management services, announced earlier that it has secured an undisclosed amount of funding from East Ventures and Skystar Capital.
This investment will accelerate PHI-Integration’s execution on its vision for #DataDrivenIndonesia into hyperdrive.
First launched in 2005 as a data warehouse and consulting company, PHI-Integration has helped many clients ranging from government to giant private companies in giving business analysis through data.
However, when they conducted internal research in early 2018, they found out that eight out of 10 companies already understand that dirty data is a big and time-consuming obstacle but still have no idea how to tackle it in an efficient and effective way.
Backed by two local VCs, the company then built a new sub-service called Linkr to help companies in refining their raw data. This sub-service will be placed under their brand product DataQualitix.
Victor Gunawan, the Business Development and co-founder, explained, “For PHI, having high-quality data and good data governance framework is fundamental for every company’s digital transformation strategy. We believe that with clean data, it will boost corporates to achieve much better analytics, machine learning utilisation, and smarter AI. Most importantly, it helps out business decision makers make a faster and sharper move.”
“Through several appointed channel partner, Linkr will help data-driven companies in tackling down the most hardest, most intense, most repetitive and most labour-intensive problems that they faced on daily basis, which is cleaning up Dirty Data and find duplicate data”, he added.
Willson Cuaca, managing partner of East Ventures said,” PHI Integration's focus on helping companies to have a cleaned and informative data is known as one of the toughest challenge in the industry. As we have seen multiple examples on how companies can create an impactful decision using data, we believe PHI Integration has place to play a pivotal role in data management industry.”
Educating Indonesia with Skystar Ventures
PHI-Integration also announced its collaboration with Skystar Ventures (Universitas Multimedia Nusantara) to introduce a data-first and immersive online education platform called DQLab.
The platform aims to tackle the most fundamental problems in scarcity of data literacy and talents by enabling students, young professionals, and individuals to learn about data analytics and its methodology with real business cases and familiar industry data sets.
DQLab will cover materials from basic Data Management and Data Science to cutting edge technology like Artificial Intelligence and Blockchain.
Feris Thia, the CEO and founder, said, “The hype of big data and data science has been introduced to Indonesian market from a couple years ago but up until today, the gap of talent supply from education vs the industry demand are widened even further.
“PHI-Integration, with more than a decade experiences in data, sees the importance of data literacy for all professions and came with this idea to help bridging the supply and demand. The name DQLab came after how we see traditional workforce is measured on IQ dan EQ indicators only. But we believe, in there is a third quotient that will come into play in this 4th industrial revolution. And it is Data Quotient, where a person is literate in data, hence we call the project DQLab.”
Geraldine Oetama, partner at Skystar Capital, said, “Big data is becoming one of core importance for corporations in Indonesia. PHI-Integration has managed not only to offer client time-saving in managing their data set, but also provide deep insights to formulate well informed decisions. With data science on high demand, we are keen to support PHI-Integration and look forward to initiating DQ Lab together to develop data science capabilities along with our partner University Multimedia Nusantara.”
