Ninja Xpress launches Ninja Easy app

THE number of people shopping online is increasing steadily. According to ACommerce, the number of online shoppers in Indonesia was 24.7 million in 2016.

Taking advantage of this trend, logistics provider Ninja Xpress introduces a social commerce solution called Ninja Easy, a mobile application for social sellers and independent blog shops that allows them to ‘Link, Send, Get Paid’.

Focusing on delivering a user-friendly experience, Ninja Easy streamlines the delivery and payment process so sellers may focus on growing their businesses, and at the same time saving time in dealing with sales administration.

“The new Ninja Easy app introduces an effortless arrangement for deliveries and payment that benefits social commerce sellers — all they need to do is ‘Link, Send and Get Paid’ — and we want them to focus on things that matter, like growing their businesses,” says Ninja Xpress country head Indra Wiralaksamana (pic) in a press release.

PT Andiarta Muzizat (Ninja Xpress) was launched in 2016 in Indonesia, under the Singapore-based startup (Ninja Van) as a logistics company that provides a system to track packages in real time, offers Cash on Delivery (COD), and personalised customer service.

How it works

Ninja Easy combines everything in one place by allowing the seller to create a ‘Ninja Easy Link’ containing details of their products which they can post on social media channels and send to interested buyers.

To confirm a sale, the buyer clicks on the link (which can be opened on any web browser), enters their address and preferred delivery time, and these details are sent back to the seller via the Ninja Easy app.

Once the buying process is confirmed, the seller can use the same app to arrange for an on-demand pick up for Ninja to collect the parcel and deliver it to the buyer. The on-demand pick up service has no minimum product limit, and is accessible seven days a week.

Seeing e-commerce as trend

The government of Indonesia is more optimistic about e-commerce than ever before by targeting an e-commerce transaction value of US$130 billion by 2020.

Ninja Xpress seeks to offer an advanced approach to social selling by enabling better payment and delivery arrangements, without requiring sellers to migrate their shops onto a whole new platform.

“As an innovative logistics player, Ninja Xpress embraces advanced technology and strives to present modern solutions that take e-commerce to the next level,” adds Indra.

The app aims to eliminate time-wasting aspects whereby sellers must wait for buyers to send proof of payment and their details before heading to a post office or arranging for deliveries.

Providing COD services

COD is the first choice in the Indonesia e-commerce scene although there are other options such as bank transfer or e-payments, with the latter being largely dependent on bank accounts and credit card ownership.

As the World Bank’s 2014 Findex (Financial Inclution Index) shows, only 36% or approximately 90 million Indonesian adults have a bank account, and Bank Indonesia is tightening regulations for credit card ownership, mainly due to 2.6% non-performing loan (NPL) ratio in 2015.

By allowing COD, Ninja Easy highlights the Ninja Xpress’ commitment to both e-buyers and e-sellers, boosting their confidence to shop online by bridging trust issues over both parties’ reputations or the products itself.

Buyers are given the luxury of checking the actual product then paying only if they have confirmed the purchase. Once the transaction is finalised, the sellers’ account on Ninja Easy app is automatically credited with the amount and the seller’s inventory is updated.

The Ninja Xpress pickup service is currently available only from sellers in Jakarta, to 28 cities nationwide with regular rates of delivery, starting from 9,000 rupiah per kg.

"Ninja EASY highlights Ninja Xpress' commitment in Indonesian market, by providing added value to enrich the online shopping ecosystem in the country.

"With Ninja Easy, Ninja Xpress makes social commerce much easier. Through Ninja Easy's on-demand pickup service and COD payment method offering, Ninja Xpress penetrates directly into Indonesia's social commerce market, which is predicted to reach US$10 million in sales value by 2020," concludes Indra.
