The newcomer juice venture, being juice, has secured US$1 million (RM4.5 million) in seed funding, led by multi-stage venture capital firms 500 Global and BEENEXT. The funding will accelerate its local and regional expansion, with plans to open 30 new stores across Malaysia in 2025 and its first international outlet in the Philippines this month.
being juice is tapping into shifting health priorities, particularly among Malaysians, two-thirds of whom now favour healthier food choices. Launched in April, the homegrown brand offers smoothies made from 100% real fruits and vegetables. Its 16 unique flavour combinations are crafted to deliver delicious, guilt-free blends inspired by Southeast Asian palates.
The venture is led by Sayantan Das, former CEO of foodpanda in Malaysia and Brunei. Commenting on the brand's trajectory, Sayantan shares, “This seed funding round is a major milestone, connecting us with investors who share our vision. We’re grateful to our customers and excited to expand across Malaysia and the region, making healthy choices accessible to more people.”
Besides expanding its market presence locally and internationally, being juice plans to launch its own mobile app to enhance customer experience Currently under continuous improvement, the app aims to offer a seamless user experience, with the goal of fostering a loyal community across markets.
