Avana empowers local micro merchants through social commerce

AVANA entered into a collaboration with Perdasama (Persatuan Pedagang dan Pengusaha Melayu Malaysia) and UPSI (Universiti Pendidikan Sultan Idris), to provide opportunities for entrepreneurs to widen their market and empower local micro merchants and students in their online businesses.

Under this collaboration, Avana will provide a platform and training module to students and entrepreneurs; from educating them about the benefits of social commerce to equipping them with marketing and online business management knowledge and scaling their online businesses in line with the national e-commerce strategic roadmap.

“Backed with experience in developing e-commerce solutions and training micro merchants, we have always been at the forefront in offering a solution for automating online business operations. In Avana, we help merchants to conduct their businesses online in a systematic manner where a professional and social commerce store is set up with an advanced inventory and order management backend complete with payment gateway integration for free in less than 15 minutes.

“This allows the merchants to use multiple sales channels and combine their marketing efforts to manage the orders and inventory in a single centralised dashboard while keeping track of their business growth,” said Avana chief executive officer Luqman Adris.

One of the other key activities under the collaboration is to build a community of entrepreneurs from entry level all the way to a professional level and a network for knowledge-sharing and growth in order to be on par with the international counterparts.

Avana is also assisting local micro merchants and entrepreneurs to utilise Facebook and Instagram as more than a promotional platform. Facebook and Instagram can now be used to automate order taking, helping micro merchants to manage and close the sales cycle quickly and systematically.

“Mentoring Entrepreneurs with Budak Baek by Joe Flizzow and Avana” was previewed during the event. In this programme, entrepreneurs experience running an online business, mentored by Joe Flizzow. By the end of the program, entrepreneurs should be ready to operate their own online businesses. The top performing merchant will be recruited to run Budak Baek, an online business by Joe Flizzow.
