Adventure holiday booking platform Adventoro launches

New Malaysia-based online platform Adventoro Travel Technologies Sdn Bhd announced its official global launch yesterday. Adventoro aims to help people from anywhere in the world to discover and book adventure-based tours and activities in Malaysia.

Currently, the platform has more than 400 tours and activities located at various destinations in Malaysia, including Kuala Lumpur, Langkawi Island, Sabah and Sarawak. Adventoro plans to expand its listings to include tours and activities around Southeast Asia in early 2018.

The platform caters to both individual travellers and group bookings.

Founder and chief executive officer Ken Lau (pix) said, “We want to make it easy for users to find and purchase desired tours and activities online using just a single platform. Aside from Malaysia, people anywhere in the world can hop on to Adventoro.com at any time to look for a new adventure they would like to experience.”

Prior to the official launch, Adventoro was on beta for a few months. Among top bestselling trips during that period were: White Water Rafting at Kampar River in Perak, Mount Kinabalu Trek Grand Adventure, Cameron Highlands Rafflesia and Mossy Forest Adventure, Taman Negara Experience, Bako National Park Overnight Adventure, and Langkawi Kayaking at Mangrove Forest Reserve.

Adventoro curates its listing carefully and handpicks tours and activities that fit into its particular adventure niche. According to Lau, it is working to up its listings to more than 500 in total for Malaysia by end of this year.

It also provides a concierge service that allows users to contact the Adventoro team directly to ask questions about trips and bookings via email, telephone, WhatsApp or a web-based live chat. “We’ve learned that in about 90% of transactions, the user had at least one question, so it is important for us to make the concierge service a priority,” said Lau.

“We aspire to grow Adventoro to become a leading go-to platform for adventure-based tours and activities in the diverse, beautiful region of Southeast Asia. We are starting off with Malaysia and soon we want to bring on tours and activities around the region,” he said.
