1337 Ventures, Malaysia’s leading early-stage venture capital firm, has been recognised as Malaysia’s first Microsoft for Startups Champion Network, marking a significant step in its mission to empower local entrepreneurs with world-class resources and

networks.

The firm said this recognition strengthens its commitment to fostering Malaysia’s startup ecosystem by providing startups with access to essential tools, mentorship, and cloud funding opportunities through Microsoft for Startups Founders Hub which was introduced in March 2022. At that time, it offered up to US$300,000 (RM1.34 million) in credits and benefits.

“By becoming Malaysia’s first Microsoft for Startups Champion Network, we are doubling down on our commitment to equip startups with cutting-edge resources, including cloud credits, AI tools, and mentorship, to accelerate their growth and global competitiveness,” said Bikesh Lakhmichand, founding partner & CEO of 1337 Ventures. The value of the credits and benefits is capped at US$150,000 (RM674,350).

As part of this collaboration, startups attending 1337 Ventures’ online courses and accelerator programmes, such as the Alpha Startups Online Accelerator, will gain exclusive access to cloud credits, AI-driven solutions, and business support to accelerate their growth and compete on a global stage.

“Microsoft is dedicated to empowering startups with the right technology, mentorship, and industry connections to drive innovation,” said Smita Roy, Asia Sales Director, Digital Startups and ISV, Microsoft. “Through our collaboration with 1337 Ventures as Malaysia’s first Microsoft for Startups Champion Network, we look forward to supporting more local startups in their journey to scale and transform industries.”

Pointing out the difference between the Startups Champion Network and Startup Founders Hub, Bikesh explain that Champion Network is a network of approved VCs of Microsoft to support and promote the Startup Founders Hub initiative. "Those selected as Champion Network get benefits from the Microsoft startup team such as tech advisory, office hours, etc for their portfolio companies. This support is not available to VCs who are not part of Champion Network."Building on this momentum, 1337 Ventures is launching The Leet Launchpad, a premier quarterly startup showcase designed to highlight the country’s most promising startups. Set to debut on 29 April at Microsoft Malaysia, The Leet Launchpad addresses key challenges faced by early-stage startups - gaining visibility, securing funding, and accessing strategic networks.

By bringing together investors, corporate partners, and ecosystem enablers, the event provides a high-impact platform for startup pitches, thought leadership discussions, and exclusive networking opportunities.

“The Leet Launchpad is more than just a pitch event - it’s a launchpad for the next generation of high-growth startups in Malaysia,” said Bikesh.

Startups, investors, and corporate partners eager to be part of Malaysia’s thriving startup ecosystem can RSVP for The Leet Launchpad event. For more information and event registration, visit https://1337.ventures/leet-launchpad.
