- The two believe this would create a comprehensive user experience for food lovers
ONLINE food delivery platform FoodPanda and Hong Kong-headquartered OpenRice, a food and restaurant review website, have announced a strategic partnership across the South-East Asian region.
Under the partnership, the two companies will integrate key elements of their websites for a more enhanced consumer experience, they said in a joint statement.
FoodPanda will display reviews from OpenRice on each restaurant profile to give their customers access to more in-depth recommendations and user feedback; while OpenRice will implement a FoodPanda delivery widget on each restaurant profile’s overview tab so users can order food directly from their preferred local restaurant.
“Today’s announcement is a particularly exciting step forward for both FoodPanda and OpenRice,” said FoodPanda global managing director Ralf Wenzel.
“We firmly believe that our partnership will help in creating more choice, more transparency and more convenience for our mutual customers,” he added.
FoodPanda claims that it and its affiliated brand HelloFood offer food delivery from over 22,000 restaurants around the globe. Customers can now benefit from over 1.6 million OpenRice reviews to choose their favourites.
“By combining our separate spheres of expertise and databases, especially in the food industry, we’re capitalising on a very important relationship,” said OpenRice managing director Jan Wong.
“OpenRice believes in bettering the food and restaurant experience for anyone who loves food, and we can’t think of a better addition to our suite of partnerships,” she added.
The partnership will be launching its first phase primarily in Singapore, India and Thailand; and subsequently in Malaysia and Indonesia.
