Groupon Malaysia sales head promoted to country GM

GROUPON Malaysia has officially promoted Rafiq Razali (pic), former head of sales, to the position of country general manager as of Jan 1.
“Rafiq has been a core member of the Groupon team since joining us in 2011 and has been influential in overseeing the implementation of some of our most successful product offerings, such as our wildly popular Groupon Getaways travel deals as well as our National segment deals,” said Groupon Malaysia chief executive officer Joel Neoh.
“I am confident that he will continue to be a key asset to our business development here in Malaysia,” he added.
A First-Class Honors graduate in Actuarial Science from Pennsylvania State University, Rafiq brings with him a wealth of experience in business development working with multinational corporations both here in Malaysia and in the United States, Groupon Malaysia said in a statement.
In his new role he will be responsible for the oversight of Groupon Malaysia’s sales, operations and people development portfolios, with the aim of further reinforcing the company’s position as Malaysia’s leading social e-commerce platform.
