XIAOMI has released its budget friendly Redmi Note 4 smartphone in Malaysia with prices starting at RM799.

The most notable feature of the new Redmi Note 4 is that is that it packs a massive 4,100mAh battery within its deceptively slim body, ensuring that it will easily be able to last a full day of use.

The gentle 2.5D glass surface creates a soft edge around the display, giving the phone a clean, minimalist appearance.

Weighing just 146g, the Redmi Note 4 appears slimmer thanks to its tapered edges.

The body is made of anodised aluminium with a premium high-gloss CNC finish, that lends a touch of class to the handset.

The dual 4G Sim phone has a 5.5-inch full HD display and fingerprint sensor on the rear for added security.

Coupled with the fact that it has an energy efficient Snapdragon 625 octa-core processor using advanced 14 nanometer FinFET technology, Xiaomi says that the Redmi Note is 20% more power efficient that its previous model.

Internally, gamers can experience smoother gaming with up to 4GB of RAM for a combination that is hard to beat. It also comes with up to 64GB of storage and the memory can be expanded to 128GB.

The Redmi Note 4 will run on Xiaomi’s latest flavour of Android, MIUI 8 that lets users separate profiles on their phones with a Second Space, allowing for different passcodes and fingerprints to access them.

Like using multiple accounts on WhatsApp or Facebook? The Redmi Note 4 is perfect for those who need to multitask between different accounts with its support for dual sign ins to any app.

Photographers fret not in low light situations, the Redmi Note 4’s 13-Megapixel CMOS sensor with backside illumination is said to offer great performance regardless of the situation.

Coupled with Phase Detection Autofocus (PDAF) with fast-focusing accuracy Xiaomi is betting users can capture moving objects with ease.

Fancy taking selfies instead? The Redmi Note 4’s 5-Megapixel front camera will do the job just fine.

Other features include an infrared remote that you can use to control other household objects with the touch of a button.

The 3GB RAM and 32GB on-board storage model of the Redmi Note 4 in black and gold, is available today for US$180 (RM799/ SG$259) in Malaysia and Singapore. It will be available in Indonesia later in April.

Xiaomi says the 4GB RAM and 64GB variant will be coming soon but has not officially announced its price.
