Top-tier Sony Xperia XZ Premium open for pre-order in Malaysia

SONY Mobile Communications recently launched its new Xperia X series smartphone the Xperia XZ Premium in Malaysia.

The Xperia XZ Premium was first showcased during the March Mobile World Congress but was only viewable behind a glass case. Now Sony has finally taken the proverbial wraps off its top tier phone.

Sony has spared no expense in outfitting the Xperia XZ Premium with the very best hardware that incorporates the best technology in display, audio, camera and processor.

The exterior of the handset features a unified design with seamless flowing lines, and a fingerprint sensor power button on the size and glass loop surface that elegantly wraps the Xperia XZ Premium.

In terms of colours, the Xperia XZ Premium will initially come in two colours: Luminous Chrome and Deep Sea Black. A third colour Bronze Pink will be available at a later date.

It boasts a stunning 5.5-inch 4K HDR (High Dynamic Range) display that is said to utilise Sony’s Bravia TV technology coupled with Triluminos display for mobile that the company claims delivers brighter and sharper contrasting pictures.

With a water resistant, dust proof and Corning Gorilla Glass 5 reinforced glass on the front and back, it is a combination of style and durability.

Sony says its owners of the new Xperia XZ Premium can stream or download select 4K HDR quality Amazon Originals series on Amazon Prime Video to watch wherever and whenever they want.

The Xperia XZ Premium comes powered by the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 processor that supports great graphics, high performance and battery efficiency. It is complemented by 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage that is expandable up to 256GB via microSD card.

Sony also claims the USB Type-C socket enables fast file transfers with its USB 3.1 connection that offers 10 times quicker transfer.

The audio experience on the Xperia XZ Premium is also top notch thanks to its High-Resolution Audio playback that is said to allow the user to hear every nuance and detail in a track.

Adding to the other capabilities of the Xperia XZ Premium is the fact that it also works with Sony’s own PlayStation 4 console to play cutting edge games.

The Xperia XZ Premium also packs Sony’s new Motion Eye camera system, complementing its 19-Megapixel camera, that allows users to record a blazing 960 frames per second slow motion video capture and playback.

The predictive capture feature also helps mobile photographers to capture that special shot by buffering images when it detects motion even before the press of the shutter button.

According to Sony the Xperia XZ Premium will be retail at US$795 (RM3,399) and is available for pre-order from May 25 until June 4 online via ecommerce merchant, 11Street, and selected Sony Stores and authorised dealers.

Pre-order customers will receive RM728 worth of gifts should they purchase the phone within the period which gets them a Sony SBH80 stereo bluetooth headset, limited edition Touch ‘n Go card preloaded with RM100, Screen Warranty Care and a transparent case with tempered glass screen protector.
