A MAJOR storm powered by Intel has hit Malaysian shores, providing a bit more competition to Microsoft's Surface Pro 4.
Introduced by Malaysia's largest IT retailer, Thunder Match Technology, the STOM Spectrum 1100 is a 2-in-1 device featuring an aluminium unibody design. It has a 1.33GHz Intel Atom CPU, 2GB of RAM and 64GB of flash storage.
The STOM Spectrum 1100 also has a 10.6-inch Full HD IPS display. Like the Surface Pro, it comes with a swivel docking keyboard that turns the tablet into a laptop.
Thunder Match also released the diminutive STOM PC Stick, a variant of Intel's concept PC stick. Designed to be plugged in directly via HDMI to a TV or monitor, the tiny device has a quad core Intel Atom CPU running at 1.33GHz, 2GB of RAM and 32GB of storage which is expandable via a memory card.
The STOM Spectrum 1100 is priced at RM1,099 while the PC stick retails at RM599. Thunder Match is offering a launch promotional discount of RM100 for the 2-in-1 and RM200 for the PC stick.
We will be reviewing both devices soon.
